Experience
Day 1 : PALANGKA RAYA – TUMBANG MALAHOI
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and transferred by car to Tumbang Malahoi (approximately 4 hours). A simple lunch will be served on the way. Upon reaching the village, a traditional welcome ceremony will take place before you settle into your room in the longhouse for some rest. In the evening, enjoy dinner with the longhouse family and gather afterward for a conversation with the elders. They will share stories about the history of the longhouse, daily life, as well as the rich culture and traditions of the community.

Day 2 : JUNGLE WALK – MUSICAL PERFORMANCE
After breakfast, a local guide will accompany you on a trek through the nearby forest, where you’ll explore ironwood and rubber tree plantations. Learn the process of collecting latex from the trees and hear about the Dayak people’s agricultural philosophies. After a shared lunch with the longhouse family, visit a Kaharingan temple to learn about the Dayak’s traditional spiritual beliefs. In the evening, enjoy a special performance featuring traditional music and dance. You will have the chance to learn about the stories behind these dances and try your hand at playing traditional instruments.

Day 3 : TUMBANG MALAHOI – TANGKILING
Following breakfast, take a stroll through the village to visit the family bonehouses and gain insight into the community’s burial customs. Admire the totem poles, especially the remarkable hornbill poles, which are believed to serve as “highways to Heaven” for the souls of the departed. After returning to the longhouse for a final meal, it’s time to pack up and say farewell to your hosts. Overnight at the Hotel around Tangkiling.

Day 4 : TANGKILING– KARUING VILLAGE – PUNGGU ALAS

Day 5 : EXPLORING PUNGGU ALAS
After breakfast, embark on a guided trek through the lush forest to discover the unique wildlife and perhaps wild orangutan sighting. Learn about their behavior in their natural habitat. After a shared lunch at the lodge, take a well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the riverbank to spot endemic species like the Hornbill, Proboscis Monkey, Longtail Macaque, and other wildlife, while enjoying a scenic sunset from the boat. In the evening, relax after dinner with a special performance of traditional music and dance. You’ll have the chance to learn about the stories behind these dances and even try playing traditional instruments.

Day 6 : TANGKILING– KARUING VILLAGE – PUNGGU ALAS
Start your day early with a boat ride to the blackwater lake, where we’ll wait for the animals to wake up. Enjoy a light breakfast onboard, accompanied by the sounds of birds. On the return journey to the lodge, you might catch a glimpse of Longtail Macaques, Gibbons, or perhaps even an Orangutan, if you’re lucky! Once we return to the lodge, take a refreshing swim in the natural black water. After your final meal, it’s time to pack up and say your goodbyes to your hosts. Then, we’ll head back to Palangka Raya.
